World Peace Pagoda

White Buddhist stupa with panoramic views over Pokhara and the Annapurnas

A gleaming white Buddhist stupa on a ridge above the southern shore of Phewa Lake, built in the 1990s by Japanese Nipponzan-Myōhōji monks as one of their global "Peace Pagodas". Row across the lake and climb the forested trail for about an hour to reach it; the view back over Pokhara and up to the Annapurna range is the reward. A classic afternoon outing.
