Locally called Pardi but known to most travellers as Damside, this is the quieter southern continuation of Lakeside. It sits beside the small dam at the outflow of Phewa Lake, with a different — and arguably better — view of the Annapurnas and Machhapuchhre than the main Lakeside strip.
Damside has a handful of guesthouses and restaurants, the dam-side walk along the lake, and easy access to Davis Falls and the Gupteshwor cave. Travellers who want the lake without the noise of the main strip often base themselves here. A 15- to 20-minute walk or a short taxi ride to central Lakeside.
