Fatima Jinnah Park

Fatima Jinnah Park — also called F-9 Park, after the sector that surrounds it — is the largest urban park in Islamabad, covering about 750 acres of lawns, ornamental gardens, a fountain plaza, an open-air theatre and dozens of kilometres of walking paths. The footprint is the same as that of Hyde Park in London, which is a useful comparison.

Joggers and walkers fill the perimeter loop at dawn and dusk. The central japan garden, donated by the Japanese government, is a particularly pretty corner. Pakistan's largest performing-arts venue, the Convention Centre, sits at the south-east corner.
