The Supreme Court of Pakistan occupies a monumental modernist building in the Red Zone, designed by Kenzo Tange — the Japanese architect responsible for Hiroshima's Peace Memorial Park — and completed in 1993. The pink granite facade, the cantilevered roof and the open colonnade at street level are characteristic of Tange's late-period work.
Visitors are not allowed inside but the building can be admired from Constitution Avenue. The surrounding compound also holds the National Library, the Federal Constitutional Court and the President's House — all part of the original Doxiadis master plan for the Red Zone.
