Now known as Sampran Riverside (formerly the Rose Garden), this sprawling eco-cultural resort sits about 32 km west of Bangkok along the Mae Klong River. It has reinvented itself beyond the original tourist formula: alongside the traditional one-hour cultural show — featuring classical dance, Muay Thai, a Buddhist ordination ceremony, and elephants — the resort now runs an organic farm, a botanical garden, a market, spa facilities, and a collection of traditional Thai houses.
The cultural show remains the centrepiece, well-produced if clearly aimed at visitors, and the grounds are genuinely pleasant for a half-day escape from the city. Open daily.
