San Jao Sieng Kong

San Jao Sieng Kong is a small Chinese shrine hidden in the lanes near the river, guarded by a terracotta dragon on the roof. It is one of Chinatown's older shrines, and its tucked-away setting makes it feel very different from the busier temples along Yaowarat Road.

The shrine sits in the Sieng Kong area, a dense district of car-parts shops. It is most atmospheric during the Vegetarian Festival, when Chinese opera and fairground stalls bring the surrounding lanes to life.
