Kepez is a working-class district in the northern part of Antalya, largely residential and away from the tourist circuit. It is the city's most populous borough and gives some sense of what Antalya looks like beyond the hotels and historical monuments — a dense, busy Turkish city of apartment blocks, street markets, and tea houses.
The district is not a tourist destination, but it is where you will find the most genuinely local Antalya: small restaurants serving home-style Turkish food at local prices, neighbourhood hamams, and the real rhythm of daily city life that the resort areas conceal.
