Lara is the eastern resort district of Antalya, dominated by a strip of large five-star all-inclusive hotels along its sandy beach. It is the package holiday heartland of the Turkish Riviera — the architecture is grandiose in that particular Turkish resort idiom (fake pyramids, false Roman columns), the scale is enormous, and the hotels compete to outdo each other in facilities and buffet quantities.
If all-inclusive resort life is your thing, Lara does it on a grand scale. For independent travellers, it is mainly of interest for the beach itself and for the Düden lower falls at its northern end.
