The Stadttempel is Vienna's main synagogue and one of the city's most important surviving Jewish religious buildings. Completed in the 19th century, it escaped the destruction that hit many other synagogues because it was built into a residential block. Visits are usually by guided tour or arranged access rather than casual drop-in.
