The German Museum of Caricature and Critical Drawing, housed in the small neoclassical Georgenpalais on the edge of the Herrenhausen Gardens. The permanent collection covers Wilhelm Busch — author of Max und Moritz and the recognised father of the modern comic strip — with rotating exhibitions on political cartooning, satire and contemporary graphic novelists.
The garden setting is the bonus: spend an hour on Busch, then walk straight into the Berggarten next door.
