The National Concert Hall is Ireland's premier classical music venue, occupying a Victorian exhibition hall built for the 1865 International Exhibition and later used as part of University College Dublin. The main auditorium has good acoustics and seats about 1,200 people, and hosts the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra as well as visiting international orchestras and soloists.
The NCH also runs a strong programme of lunchtime recitals, chamber concerts, and jazz. The building is on Earlsfort Terrace, a quiet street off St Stephen's Green, and the concert café is a pleasant pre-show dining option.
