The Tower contrada occupies the southeastern slope of the old town, between the Pispini gate and the Campo. The contrada's church and museum are in Via Salicotto, with the elephant-and-tower emblem visible on the painted house signs along the way.
The neighbourhood is one of the most attractive parts of the old town, with stepped lanes climbing the slope, the back of the Palazzo Pubblico looming overhead, and quiet small squares. The contrada's traditional rival is the Oca on the opposite hill — the two are usually careful never to win the same Palio.
