Loggia della Mercanzia

Renaissance merchants' loggia at the top of the Campo

A mid-15th-century three-arched loggia at the meeting of Banchi di Sopra, Banchi di Sotto, and Via di Città — the medieval commercial nerve centre of the city, where the three branches of the merchant aristocracy and their guild offices converged.

The slender columns are decorated with statues of saints. The loggia is now part of a private club but the open ground floor is freely accessible.
