El Carme Street Art

A loose self-guided gallery scattered across the streets of El Carme. The neighbourhood has, since the 1990s, been a permissive zone for urban art — Valencian artists like Escif, Deih, Hyuro, Julieta XLF, and the duo BlocoTresc have left walls, doorways, and entire facades painted in styles from photorealistic murals to stylised graffiti.

The best stretches are around Calle Moret (parallel to the IVAM), along Calle Alta, and on the back of the Torres de Quart facing the old wall. Walk it in the late afternoon for the best light. The murals turn over constantly — a piece you photographed on a previous visit may be gone in six months.
