Valencia's main city beach: a long, wide ribbon of golden sand backed by a pedestrian promenade, with the city centre fifteen minutes away by tram. The water shelves gently into the Mediterranean — very swimmable from June through October — and the beach is kept exceptionally clean by city standards.
The Paseo Marítimo behind the sand has restaurants, ice cream stalls, and the famous paella places (La Pepica being the most legendary). In summer beach bars (chiringuitos) set up across the sand. Locals walk it morning and evening; tourists tend to arrive at noon and leave by sunset.
