A nine-kilometre linear park snaking through the heart of Valencia, built in the dry bed of the diverted Turia river. The park is the single best thing about getting around the city — it's quiet, traffic-free, planted with palms, orange trees, and pines, crossed by eighteen historic bridges, and dotted with playgrounds, a sports complex, and the Parque Gulliver.
At its eastern end the gardens flow into the City of Arts and Sciences; at the western end into the Bioparc zoo and the Cabecera park. Walk it, run it, or rent a bike — the park has dedicated cycle lanes its whole length. The stretch under the old Trinity bridge near the Serranos towers is the most picturesque.
