A long landscaped park stretching along the high right bank of the Dnieper, behind the Mariinsky Palace and the Verkhovna Rada. Laid out in the late 19th century in the English style, it is one of the great Kyiv strolling parks: tall lime trees, a fountain, the Soviet-era People's Friendship Arch (now rebranded as the Arch of Freedom of the Ukrainian People), and broad views over the river.
The pedestrian Park Bridge over Khreshchatyy Park, which links Mariinsky to Khreshchatyk Park, has been a popular tourist photo spot since its 1910 construction. From the cliff edge you look down on Trukhaniv Island and the Dnieper beaches in summer.
