Sutton Park is Birminghams great outdoor escape: more than 2,000 acres of heathland, woods, wetlands, pools, and open grass where cattle and ponies still graze. It feels less like a city park than a surviving piece of old Midlands countryside, with long paths that quickly shake off the traffic and shopping streets.
Come for a proper walk rather than a quick bench stop. The park is large enough for half a day of wandering, with lakeside stretches, birdlife, and plenty of room to find a quiet corner even on busy weekends.
