One of over a hundred glaciers visible along the Icefields Parkway, and one of the easiest to see — a well-marked viewpoint sits right off the road. The glacier once had three toe-like extensions that gave it a crow's foot shape, but the lowest toe has receded dramatically, leaving only two. It is a striking, sobering reminder of how quickly mountain ice is disappearing.
The viewpoint is roughly 33 km north of Lake Louise and 197 km south of Jasper. You can pull over and take it in from the parking area; no hiking required.
