A 4.5 km scenic drive branches off Mount Norquay Road just before the Banff/Norquay overpass and runs along three shallow lakes backed by the Sundance Range. The marshland setting draws a good variety of birds and wildlife — elk, muskrat, and the occasional osprey. At dawn and dusk the lakes mirror Mount Rundle almost perfectly, making this one of the most photographed spots in the park.
The road is also popular with cyclists and walkers. In winter the lakes freeze and the drive becomes quieter, but the mountain views are just as good.
