Musica

Musica is the 40-foot bronze of nine larger-than-life dancing nude figures at the Music Row roundabout — the gateway to the neighbourhood from downtown. The sculpture, by Tennessee artist Alan LeQuire (who also made the Athena Parthenos inside the Parthenon), was commissioned by the city in 2003.

It is the largest figural bronze in the United States and has been variously celebrated and complained about since unveiling. The piece is best seen from the Demonbreun Street side; locals jokingly call it a reminder of how easy it is to lose one's shirt — and one's pants — in the country music business. It is also a useful navigational landmark when you find yourself lost on Music Row's identical bungalow streets.
