The home of the Nashville Symphony, opened in 2006 a block south of Broadway. The building is a beaux-arts concert hall in the European tradition — vaulted ceilings, a colonnaded exterior, and a fixed-seat shoebox auditorium that flips into a flat-floor ballroom for jazz and pops concerts. Acoustics are first-rate.
The orchestra has a strong commitment to American repertoire — Bernstein, Copland, Florence Price, contemporary commissions — alongside the standard classical canon. Free guided tours of the building run a few times a week; the gift shop and small exhibit space in the foyer are open without ticket. The hall flooded badly in 2010 but has been fully restored.
