The city's pedestrian shopping street, running from Plaza de Mayo north to Plaza San Martín. Leather goods, clothing, and a few department stores line the first stretch; it then gets more pedestrian and touristy, with tango street-performers and the Galerías Pacífico — a restored French-style shopping gallery with excellent frescoes on the central dome. The black-market money-changers ("arbolitos") work the northern end.
