Teatro Liceo is one of Buenos Aires' oldest surviving theatres, opened in 1876 under the name El Dorado. Its long stage history includes an early appearance by Eva Peron, before politics turned her into Argentina's most famous public figure.
The theatre sits near the Congreso end of central Buenos Aires, close enough to combine with Palacio Barolo, Avenida Corrientes, and the Congreso buildings. Check the programme if you want to see the interior properly; otherwise it is a short but satisfying theatre-history stop.
