A separate municipality to the south of Medellin, but joined to it by the metro and now effectively a continuous urban area. Envigado preserves a stronger paisa identity than central Medellin — older townspeople, traditional bakeries, the Parque Principal still a working town square. Excellent food (try Don Juan's bandeja paisa or the bakeries around the main park) and noticeably less aimed at tourists. A useful base if you want to be near Poblado but a step removed from the louder scene.
