The oldest church standing in central Medellin, built in 1791 in late-colonial whitewashed style with a single bell tower and a long, low painted interior. Run from the early years by a brotherhood of the Holy Cross — it gave shelter to executed prisoners' bodies and to indigenous slaves brought up the Cauca valley.
A few steps off the busy Paseo Junín; an easy stop on a downtown walk.
