The 36-storey concrete tower that has anchored the downtown skyline since 1972, shaped to suggest an oversized sewing needle in honour of the textile-industry tradition that built the city's wealth. From below, on Pasaje Junín, the pointed top looms over the pedestrian street. There is no public viewing deck, but the building is the navigational landmark for anyone walking downtown — every street radiates from or toward it.

A story
Built in 1972 and designed to look like a textile needle as a tribute to the textile industry — Coltejer was one of the country's largest textile manufacturers when it commissioned the tower. The 175-metre needle was the tallest building in Colombia until 2016.
