1803 public university with murals by Pedro Nel Gómez

Address Calle 67 No. 53-108

The city's oldest and largest public university, founded in 1803 and an important civic institution. The main campus on the north side of the city is open to walk through during the day — modernist concrete buildings around landscaped lawns, with several frescoes by Pedro Nel Gómez in the Auditorio de los Conquistadores. The university museum on campus holds a good collection of pre-Columbian and natural history exhibits. Free to enter; bring ID for the gate.
