The Casa del Tesoro — Treasure House — is an 18th-century mansion on Calle Zamora that takes its name from a cache of colonial silver coins discovered in one of the walls during 20th-century restoration. The house has the standard Coro layout: thick mud-and-cane walls, an inner patio, deep rooms shaded by overhanging eaves.
It is now a small museum of colonial silverware, religious art, and domestic objects from the families who lived here. The combination of building and contents is the most coherent picture you'll get of upper-class life in colonial Coro.
