The Church of San Francisco is the second of Coro's important colonial churches, built by the Franciscans in the 17th century beside the convent that now houses the Diocesan Museum. Externally it is plain — whitewashed walls, low tower, a single stone portal — but inside is a fine wooden ceiling and a colonial-era altarpiece survived from the convent's working life.
It stands less than a block from the cathedral and is open during the same morning and evening hours as the rest of Coro's churches. Worth combining with the museum next door in a single visit.
