Akhlamad Waterfall

A two-stage waterfall in a steep ravine of the Binalud mountains, about 75 km west of Mashhad. Reaching the upper fall takes a brisk uphill hike of about an hour from the trailhead at Akhlamad village; the path follows a small stream through walnut and apricot orchards before climbing into bare rock.

Bring water and proper shoes. The setting is one of the most attractive natural sites within day-trip reach of the city, and on a Friday morning it can be busy with local hikers and picnickers.
