The principal museum of the Imam Reza Shrine, founded in 1937 and now housed in several connected buildings inside the complex. The collection draws on more than a thousand years of gifts and endowments to the shrine: illuminated Qurans, calligraphy, ceremonial weapons, gold and silver candlesticks, carpets, ceramics, stamps, and an extraordinary collection of clocks donated over the centuries by visiting royals.
The Quran gallery and the carpet hall are the most impressive sections. The museum is included in the standard tour of the shrine and, on a quiet morning, the most peaceful place inside the complex.
