The wide tree-lined Koohsangi Avenue runs west from the centre toward Kuhsangi Park, and is one of the most pleasant streets in Mashhad for an evening walk. A row of cafés, small restaurants, and bookshops lines both sides; the trees give welcome shade in summer.
A good orienting walk for a first afternoon in the city, ending with tea at the park.
