Église Saint-Étienne-du-Mont stands beside the Panthéon and is one of the Latin Quarter's most rewarding churches. Built between the late fifteenth and early seventeenth centuries, it mixes Gothic and Renaissance forms and preserves Paris's only surviving Renaissance rood screen. The shrine of Saint Geneviève also gives the church long-standing pilgrimage importance.
