Jeu de Paume is a small art museum on the edge of the Tuileries, in a former royal tennis court later rebuilt in a neoclassical style. It now focuses on photography, video, and contemporary image-based art, with temporary shows rather than a fixed blockbuster collection.
It is easy to pair with the Orangerie or the Louvre, but it works best if you check the current exhibition first. When the programme is strong, the intimate scale makes it a calmer stop than the big museums nearby.
