Parc Montsouris is one of the great landscaped parks of southern Paris, opened in 1878 as part of Baron Haussmann's reshaping of the city. Its lake, lawns, bridges, and mature trees make it a good break from the denser streets around Montparnasse and the Cite Universitaire.
