A small, perfectly preserved early-nineteenth-century natural history collection inside the seminary building near the cathedral. The crown jewel is the Bird Hall — a long room with two galleries of wood-and-glass cases unchanged since the 1820s, holding hundreds of bird specimens posed in the dramatic style of their time, with extraordinary survivals of nineteenth-century wax-modelled fruit beneath them. Open limited hours; check before going.

A story
The Bird Hall preserves its original 1820s display cases and arrangement — one of the few completely intact early-19th-century museum rooms in Europe. Inside are not only taxidermied birds but also wax models of fruit varieties (Pomologie) that have since become extinct.
