A perfect small Baroque palace on the riverbank, designed by Johann Dientzenhofer in 1716 as a private residence for the privy councillor Ignaz Tobias Böttinger. It now houses an academic research institute. The exterior — symmetrical, mansarded, framed by old chestnut trees and the river — is one of the city's photogenic set pieces. Best viewed from the opposite bank or from a punt drifting down toward Klein Venedig.
