Santa Chiara

Santa Chiara is a small Poor Clares' church and convent on Via Garibaldi, just west of the cathedral. The building is mid-eighteenth century, in restrained baroque, with a simple bell tower and a single domed nave.

Inside, the convent's grated nuns' choir is unusually visible from the main church, and the floor of polychrome lava stone is a fine example of the local craft. Open during morning Mass and occasional afternoons.
