Arthur's Stone is a Neolithic chambered tomb on the Gower Peninsula, set in open upland with wide views that make the prehistoric landscape easy to feel. The Arthurian name is later folklore, but the monument itself is far older and more interesting than the legend alone.
It is a worthwhile excursion from Swansea for travellers already heading onto Gower. Go prepared for exposed weather and treat the site as fragile archaeology, not a climbing frame or picnic table.
