Cwmdonkin Park

Dylan Thomas's childhood park, inspiration for his poetry

The small hillside park in the Uplands neighbourhood where Dylan Thomas played as a child. His poem "The Hunchback in the Park" draws directly on the place, and a small memorial stone inscribed with lines from it stands near the entrance. Thomas's birthplace at 5 Cwmdonkin Drive is a two-minute walk downhill.
