Swansea Bus Museum

Tucked in an industrial estate on the eastern edge of Swansea, this volunteer-run museum has restored more than thirty old buses and coaches, mostly from the South Wales operators that used to run the city's services. The collection ranges from a 1920s charabanc to deregulation-era Bristol VRs.

It is a niche outing — but for transport enthusiasts, and for anyone who grew up riding South Wales Transport double-deckers, it is delightful. Check opening days in advance.

A story
Open most Saturdays only, the museum is run entirely by volunteers — some of them retired bus drivers — and on running days the older buses are pulled out of the shed and driven slowly around the industrial estate for visitors to ride.
