A small but serious museum on the corner of Shirley Street and Elizabeth Avenue, run by the volunteer-led Bahamas Historical Society. The collection covers Lucayan (pre-Columbian Arawak) artefacts, Loyalist-era documents, slavery, emancipation, and the development of the modern Bahamas.
Less flashy than the Pirates of Nassau museum down the road but more substantial historically. Open weekday mornings and Saturday mornings. A small library upstairs is available to researchers by appointment.
