The small public square between Bay Street and the cruise terminal, with a bronze bust of Sir Milo Butler — the first black Bahamian governor-general — at its centre. The square is the staging area for downtown carriage tours, the official tourist information centre, and the open-air Junkanoo Beach Shack for cold drinks.
Stop here on the way from the cruise dock into town to take the photograph of the parliament buildings and to ignore the carriage-tour touts. The square is small enough to take in two minutes; it functions mostly as a gateway to downtown.
