Blue Lagoon Island

A small private island five kilometres east of Paradise Island, also called Salt Cay. Reached only by tour-boat ferry from Paradise Island (about 25 minutes), so a day trip is essentially a package: ferry, beach lounger, and lunch.

The beaches are good — calm shallow water, clean white sand — and the place is famous for its swimming-with-dolphins programme and resident sea lions. Ethics on captive marine mammal interactions are debatable; book accordingly. Without the dolphin add-on it is a perfectly pleasant beach day away from the crowds of central Nassau.
