The 38-metre concrete tower beside Fort Fincastle is the tallest structure in Nassau and was, when built in 1928, the highest point in the British West Indies. It still functions as a water tower; the small observation deck near the top gives the most complete 360-degree view of New Providence.
Lift status is unreliable — sometimes working, sometimes not. When it works the climb costs a small fee. When it doesn't, the views from the top of Fort Fincastle next door are almost as good and free.
