The Dig at Atlantis

An elaborate network of aquarium passages beneath the Atlantis resort, themed as if visitors are walking through the excavation of the lost city of Atlantis. The aesthetic is unashamedly Disney; the aquaria themselves are top-class — eight million gallons of seawater, more than fifty thousand fish, twenty exhibits and viewing tunnels you walk through.

The largest tank holds hammerhead sharks, manta rays, and a tornado of barracuda. Free for Atlantis guests; non-guests pay a steep day-pass that also includes the Aquaventure water park. Allow two hours. The cheaper alternative is the marine-life centre at the Atlantis Marina Village which has more modest tanks but free admission to the public arcades.
