The provincial historical museum is housed in one of the few surviving 18th-century private mansions in central Córdoba, once home to the Spanish governor Rafael de Sobremonte. The thick adobe walls and two interior patios are the most complete domestic example of colonial Córdoba architecture.
The 27 rooms display religious art, colonial furniture, silver, textiles, and weapons spanning the 16th to 19th centuries. The labelling is in Spanish only, but the building itself is worth the visit even without language.
