Cajamarquilla

Cajamarquilla is a large pre-Hispanic adobe city on the eastern edge of Lima. The site covers several square kilometres, with ruined compounds, streets, and walls that show the scale of settlement before the Spanish conquest.

The setting is rough and industrial, but the archaeology is substantial enough to reward travellers who are comfortable making a deliberate trip beyond the usual central Lima sights.
