Larcomar

Open-air mall cut into the Miraflores cliff face

Larcomar is an open-air shopping and entertainment complex cut into the side of the Miraflores cliff below Parque Salazar — three terraced levels overlooking the Pacific, designed so the buildings sit below the level of the Malecón above. It opened in 1998 and is the most visible commercial development of the modern Miraflores boom.

Inside are the chain shops (Adidas, Zara, Mango), a multiplex cinema, a Tony Roma's, several restaurants with sunset terraces, and bars that fill on Friday and Saturday nights. Useful for groceries (the Vivanda supermarket), an emergency Andean sweater purchase, or a sea-view dinner with reliable cooking. The lift up to the Malecón is the easiest cliff access.
